A McGraw Edison Fuse Link 11 N 25 is a type of
electrical fuse link designed to protect electrical systems and equipment from overcurrents. More specifically, the "N" indicates that it is a Type N fuse link, which adheres to applicable ANSI standards for mechanical interchangeability and has a speed ratio comparable to the Type K (fast) link. The "25" designates its amperage rating as 25 A.
Key applications
  • Medium voltage distribution systems: McGraw Edison (now Eaton Cooper Power) manufactures these fuse links for use in open or enclosed distribution cutouts to protect components like transformers and feeder circuits.
  • Overcurrent and short circuit protection: Like all fuse links, the 11 N 25 acts as a sacrificial element designed to melt and interrupt the circuit in the event of an overcurrent or short circuit, preventing damage to the rest of the electrical system.
  • Coordination within the system: The speed characteristics (similar to Type K, fast) allow for coordinated protection within the electrical system, ensuring that the appropriate device trips first to isolate a fault and minimize disruption.
In essence, the McGraw Edison Fuse Link 11 N 25 serves as a reliable safety device to protect electrical equipment in medium-voltage distribution systems by interrupting the circuit during fault conditions
