Vintage Soviet USSR VOSTOK KOMANDIRSKIE Military Watch for Parts RepairsFull
disclosure...I do not know very much about this watch. It's in very
good cosmetic condition with light surface scuff marks on the crystal,
bezel and case. The is som surface oxidation near the 4 and the 10, on the top of the case, near the watch crystal glass. The dial looks very good. It is currently NOT WORKING and can't be wound. The leather strap has a small built-in compass. I believe this may be an automatic watch. When you shake it, it sounds like an automatic watch. This is being sold "AS IS" for parts, repairs or restoration. It
has not been cleaned or serviced in a long time and I'm sure it would
benefit from it for optimal performance and appearance.
Vostok Komandirskie watches originated in 1965 when the Vostok Watch Factory was appointed the official watch supplier for the Soviet Ministry of Defense. The "Komandirskie" ("Commander's Watch") line was developed to be robust and reliable for military officers, featuring water-resistant and shock-protected movements. Production was initially restricted to military stores, but the watches later became popular with the public, both in the Soviet Union and internationally, after the collapse of the USSR.
